🌞🚴♀️We started our tour around Lake Zug from Buonas. From the higher street layout, there were always enchanting views of the lake, opposite bank and Rigi and Pilatus. Unfortunately, the entire eastern bypass leads along Chantonsstrasse 25. In Zug we were able to see some exotic birds in the aviary. On the spur of the moment, we made an extended picnic on the shore in Immensee.
Start at the port restaurant in Zug. Free parking for cars next to the harbor restaurant on Sundays. From Monday to Saturday 1CHF / hour. Excellent view of the sea at the harbor.
After such a start to the day in the morning, I didn't expect it (entry 1/2). I decided to continue on to Lake Zug. After a short stop at home and changing my car, I headed towards Weggis, with the idea of stopping somewhere and cycling from there after almost 3 hours by car. I started in Cham in wonderful weather. Just off I went, without a plan... And I still didn't know exactly what I wanted to do, where the route would take me. .. Then I wanted to go around the lake, and that's what I did, and the idea was put into practice. In this summer weather, temperatures around 25°C, there were a lot of people outside, the sun lured almost everyone to the lake. In Cham and Zug, the paths by the lake were so crowded, beaches were occupied, restaurants full... I decided to drive out of the city, it was more of an escape 😲😅🤣🤣. I needed peace and quiet, solitude. I've driven part of the route by car so many times! And the desire to cycle around the lake was clear!
Drive clockwise. Then you usually drive on a bike path / pavement.
Phew, I can't recommend this tour. From Immensee to Zug it was just along the road. With just a 7-speed bike - I think - you wouldn't have been able to get up the inclines at the end. Next time I would just take the western route to Zug and back overland. Somehow I thought I had to go around this lake... I'll learn from that 😉
Very nice bike tour around Lake Zug. The start in Baar is very suitable, as parking is much easier there than in Zug or anywhere else on the lake. The access point takes you directly to the lake (approx. 1km). You can park for free at many companies, at least on weekends or public holidays. We had a great hit with the parking lot at the bike corner, it even has a compressor and washing station :-) The first 20km are very nice bike paths with no traffic. Good to do with smaller children too. Then shortly after Immensee there are almost 20km of the main race. with bicycle stripes. This is then no longer quite as pure nature. In Zug am See you can then linger quite well. The kiosk offers fine glasses and drinks. A Starbucks for the caffeine kick is also not far 🤣 Back to the PP it is about 3 km through the city, past the train station and then "overland" to Baar
