Greifenburg Water Adventure Trail

The extremely varied and exciting hike along the Water Adventure Trail through the Gnoppnitz Gorge, which delights hikers of all ages, begins in Greifenburg at the town hall. There is a bus stop and free parking.

From the starting point, you hike north out of town, where you immediately pass the entrance to the themed trail. Here, you'll be accompanied by the rippling and rushing water in all its forms.

Along the way, you'll discover an old mill, observe the Gnoppnitzbach stream winding its way over hill and dale through the gorge, and marvel at the various waterfalls of this small torrent. The experience is rounded out by the many excellently designed interactive stations where you'll learn more about the role of water. For example, water as a habitat, water as a source of energy, but also as a source of danger.

At the end of the gorge, you'll then climb up to the Heregger Alm. Up here, you're already on your way back and enjoy magnificent views. This way you can comfortably hike back to the starting point in Greifenburg.
