On this bike tour you first travel by boat from Lindau to Rorschach (Switzerland). In Rorschach, sand sculptures will again be exhibited on the shore in August. From Rorschach it goes on good cycle paths towards Austria. In the Rhine Delta nature reserve, you can stop off for a meal in the glass house, among other places. You can stay in Bregenz for a long time. The shore from Bregenz in the direction of Lochau is beautifully laid out and well equipped with showers and toilets. The bike path has been newly created there and is pleasantly wide. The lake is freely accessible there. We drove the further route from Lindau via Wasserburg, Nonnenhorn and Kressbronn on another day. Corresponding images are included here.
On the way home. 2 days at Lake Constance. We had a lovely bike ride, first by boat and then back to the campsite. It's in Switzerland, but we also cycled in Germany and Austria!
The second day of Lake Constance took us today via the ship connection in the morning from Wasserburg to Rorschach / CH. After a 50-minute drive we were there and start cycling again towards Bregenz / A. Had a lot of sun today ☀️ while cycling 😁 The tour through the Swiss side of Lake Constance was very nice .. in Staad, a short detour to the Hundertwasser architecture project (market hall) was amazed, the colors and the sloping shapes were interesting. The many nature reserves along the Old Rhine are also worth seeing. We liked it very much. Shortly after the bridge over the Old Rhine, culinary delights were taken up on the Austrian side in the form of pizza 😋 😁 The Rhine delta between the old Rhine and the Rhine is also beautiful ... a very beautiful nature reserve, but here too the splendor of flowers is over ... but the charm of the landscape is still there. I liked it very much 🤩 There were also quite a few photo motifs ... a stork flew elegantly overhead just above us, which also came into the photo gallery. The clouds were already very dark from Bregenz to the west .. whether we can make it home dry today .. more than questionable ☔️ How it happens .. we stopped again for ice cream 🍧, iced coffee and cappuccino intake as the last refreshment and then left quickly towards accommodation. The dark clouds were now very threateningly close ... and from Wasserburg then over us and the lock opened 🚿🌨, Wasserburg lives up to its name, the water poured something like that down from above. That went as far as Nonnenhorn .. no matter .. the shower was necessary anyway .. then just twice in quick succession 🤷♂️🚿 In the evening we were fed deliciously again by his mother's landlord. Today the starter for us was steamed noodle from grandma's old recipe from the host on the menu. We only say mega-delicious ... with good Müller Thurgau wine from the landlord's own cultivation and trout or roast roast, the day was ended with beautiful impressions for us 🤩😁👍
Today we did a great tour. We cycled through three countries. It started in Zech near Lindau on Lake Constance (D) towards Bregenz (A). When the weather was great, we took the Pfänderbahn up the mountain. Mega view. We continued along the Lake Constance cycle path, towards Switzerland. Great bike paths through nature and along the Old Rhine. A detour to the lake restaurant Glashaus directly on Lake Constance is worthwhile. From Rorschach we went by ship via Wasserburg and Bad Schachen back to Lindau and on by bike to the starting point in Zech. Water distance approx. 20 km Weather: ☀️ 24 degrees
One of the most beautiful bike tours on Lake Constance. Depending on the starting point, I would recommend starting in Lindau and taking the ferry to Rorschach first. Best with the ferry at 9 o'clock. So you have the whole day for the tour. In addition, the crossing from D to CH is cheaper than in the other direction.
The total route includes shipping of about 15 km. Stopping the recording didn't help.
Today we went along the Lake Constance cycle path to Rorschach. Due to the weather, it really wasn't full. Even though we have ridden this path quite often, I am always impressed by the condition and the development of the path!
We parked in the Wäsen parking lot in Lindau (very cheap parking fees), from there we cycled to the harbor on the island of Lindau. We continued by ship to Rorschasch in Switzerland. From here we continued cycling in the direction of Austria, into the Rhine delta and back to Lindau. Unfortunately relatively little along Lake Constance. The distance traveled is 42km, not as stated above, since komoot has calculated the shipping distance as the crow flies.
