From the port of Marettimo, this trail takes you up to the highest peak on the island: Pizzo Falcone. It is an accessible route, perfect for those looking for an immersive excursion into the Sicilian nature of this island.
Start by climbing towards the site of the Roman Houses, an ancient archaeological area with Roman ruins and a Byzantine church. Here, a fresh water spring invites you to a regenerating stop, while your gaze gets lost between the islands of Levanzo and Favignana.
Continuing along the north side, the trail opens onto breathtaking views overlooking the sea. Then comes the final climb, steep but rewarding, which leads to Pizzo Falcone. From the summit, the view seems to have no boundaries: an infinite sea and the island that stretches out at your feet.
For the return, the path takes you to touch Punta Campana and Pizzo del Capraro, until you return to the Roman Houses. Here you can refresh yourself one last time, fill your water bottle and rest your legs before the descent that gently takes you back to Marettimo.
