This route was planned by komoot.
This time I did the entire tour alone. It was fun 💪🏻 I kept thinking of my grandson Johannes, 11. "Grandpa, let him go!" 😍
Made use of the great weather and did a fitness-enhancing lap in the Haard. It was very muddy in some sections with very deep ground, which not only slowed you down, but was also really exhausting. The real brake pad was when a screw in the rear triangle broke and the entire rear wheel became unstable. But after a MacGyver-like fix with cable ties and a short test, we decided to finish the remaining 2/3. It worked out great, even if we were of course slower and more careful on the road. All in all, it was a great trip 🚵♂️👍
Entry was on the Dachsberg. But you can also choose one of the other hiking parking spaces. Nicely guided / signposted tour. We treated ourselves to the ice cream on the way back in Wanne-Eickel, near the fairground. Everyone can choose their ice cream parlor they trust. As for the circuit: totally varied and beautiful to look at and the ever changing scented forest. Just great. And the best: only met 10 people on 42km (when it comes up). Stopping and enjoying the peace and quiet of the forest is definitely allowed! The Haard is sooo beautiful and animals, people, cyclists, dogs, horses, all meet each other. Very nice togetherness. Hope everything stays soooo clean, relaxed and enjoyable there for many years to come. Haard - we'll see you again.
Today we went again with 2 friends on the round trip through the Haard. In the end, my Kiox showed 50.4 km. That was because I didn't record the drive-in and the last bit to the car. At the end of the round we went to Mother Wehner for a delicious dinner.😋 Since we've ridden the route before, I knew roughly what to expect. It went a little bit better than last time. 👍 Nice tour, I can only recommend it, especially when you drive with such a nice companion. 😊 Although I only ever saw them from behind for a very short time. Too fast for me.🤣🚀 But that will be... maybe.🌞😉😎
I've been to the Haard many times because of the top-notch flow trails, but in the heat today it was "die hard" 😇😁
Based on the MTB route "Haard on Tour" (=> https://www.radrevier.ruhr/mountainbike-gravel-und-rennrad/mountainbike/haard-on-tour/ ), my son planned a circular tour, which we rode today. Even though it is often busier here on a Sunday - especially when the weather is as great as today - we always came across great sections in secluded nature. After the rain, it was still a bit muddy in some places, but overall that wasn't a big problem. The MTB route "Haard on Tour" was created by the Ruhr Regional Association with funding from the EU and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is freely available to all mountain bikers. The concept is very reminiscent of the MTB routes in the Netherlands => https://www.mtbroutes.nl/ Unlike in the Netherlands, however, no attention was paid to a large separation between bikers and other forest users (hikers, riders, etc.). That's why it says: "You can expect to meet people on foot or on horseback at any time along the route. Be friendly and ride on!"
I've been biking in the Haard for the first time in a long time. I downloaded the route as a GPX file from the official website and changed the starting point to the Mutter Wehmer parking lot. Nice S0 loop
