3. Premium hike: Altschlosspfad from/to Eppenbrunn... on Palm Sunday at 4°C and felt like 0°C, light rain with occasional sleet showers... so perfect hiking weather to have the forest to yourself 😉 Absolute highlight on the great path of the Altschlossfelsen... you have to visit it!

Village - countryside - forest - all dreamy, if it weren't for... THESE rocks. Today, the original tour, especially for my newer followers like @Heike 📷🦋🥾🪻, @Bergziege Doris, @MeNney ... and of course everyone else, including myself (and myself). Warning: ⚠️ Not when all the French are on vacation, especially not on weekends and holidays! Ronnie was quite stressed, and I was annoyed by the hustle and bustle. Of course, the USA couldn't offer much more beautiful... 😉 About the tour itself: I would prefer the green dotted path via Krämereck at the beginning (gravel in the original) and take the detour via the path to the Hinkelstein/Devil's Table at the end (unfortunately, we didn't have time for that today). A final stop at the Hotel Kupper (also has a beer garden) is possible... today was a rest day. It was sensational again (like every year), but I find it sad that more and more people think they have to “immortalize” themselves on these rocks 😠.

Nice and varied place to rest at the end of the rocks and shortly after. Almost only through the forest, still easy to walk on at 30 degrees, 3-4 degrees cooler in the forest. Finally, there is a great beer garden at the Hotel Kupper, but there is hardly any offer for vegetarians, rather for game lovers

After @Bine🐝🌲💞 had urged us to take a look at the Altschlossfelsen near Eppenbrunn, we went on a short hike after checking out on the last day of our vacation before heading home. We set off from the large parking lot in Eppenbrunn at around 9:50 a.m. on the almost 10-kilometer-long Altschlosspfad. Almost two thirds of the total ascent is done in the first half of the tour, with only the last few meters to the Altschlossfelsen being steep. At the beginning it was a relaxed walk along the Eppenbrunner Bach and a leisurely uphill climb on beautiful forest paths through the idyllic Märtelbachtal. It suddenly became impressive when we reached the Altschlossfelsen natural monument. The rocks extend over a distance of around 1.5 kilometers and reach a height of up to 35 meters. Definitely one of the most beautiful sections of the path on our vacation! After the first formations we turned onto a narrow path that led us up to the rocks. At the top we came across the Himmelsblick bench, which we used for our first break. The impressive path then continued along the Altschlossfelsen, the drama of which could not have been better designed. The most impressive formations can be reached at the end of the path, before you say goodbye to the Altschlossfelsen - after passing a stone gate. The rest of the path (well signposted) is also beautiful and interesting. The "Hollow Rock", where we took a second break, the path along the Mühlweiher and the beautifully designed Eppenbrunn leisure park are particularly worth mentioning here. A worthy end to our vacation and a big thank you to @Bine🐝🌲💞 for this great tip! It was really worth it and we didn't regret the detour to Eppenbrunn :) Recommendation: On a day with good hiking weather forecast, it's best to start hiking early, then the rocks will probably not be as crowded as they were for us :)
