Running
This almost four-kilometer-long trail in the north of Koli National Park is short and relaxed. Instead of climbing the peaks of the park's most important mountains, this route lets you get to know the cultural landscape up close.
From the starting point on the Yiä-Kolintie road, which you can reach either by bus or car, you head east. Forests and meadows line the slightly ascending path and in summer you are guaranteed to be watched by one or two grazing farm animals.
After a good kilometer, turn left onto a narrow forest path and walk past the Vaaralanaho farm. After another turnoff, you reach the restored historic Kolin Mattila farm complex. There is now a cozy café there. You will then return to the starting point after another kilometer.
