This round trip takes you through the Weinsberg Forest, the largest closed forest area in Austria, for around 145 kilometers. If you like a challenge, you can do this tour in one go. For a more leisurely cycling experience, we recommend splitting the route into two or three stages.
It starts in Altenmarkt. From here you cycle via Dorfstetten to Bärnkopf. A little way from the town is the crystal-clear Schlesingerteich, which invites you to linger and swim. The route then takes you to Arbesbach. Here you can visit the bear forest, which gives you lasting impressions of nature and animals.
On the way back south you pass the town of Rappottenstein with the impressive Rappottenstein Castle. You then cycle via Martinsberg and through the picturesque landscape back to Altenmarkt. You can end the cycle tour comfortably in one of the cozy inns here.
