This route was planned by komoot.
Easy tour with a few meters of altitude, which first runs through the forest along a stream lined with Smurfs, then runs wonderfully through the vineyards and Durbach farmsteads 🫒🫒🫒🍀🍀🍀
At the end of the year I chose a suggested tour from Komoot. ... as so often with small modifications, also because of the pre-wanderer. Yesterday it was already 15 degrees in Achern. This morning I was woken up at 7 a.m. by a blackbird who said that spring had broken out. Other birds in Durbach were of the same opinion. That was a great spring chirp. The temperatures also went up quickly from 4 degrees to 15 degrees (was later indicated to me by the car). On the way, however, there was an interplay between jacket off and jacket on. You keep moving. Finally: No matter which path you take, the path is the goal. Whether simple or rocky, straight or curvy, sunny or cloudy, alone or in company, stay honest with you and your fellow human beings. I wish you a healthy and adventurous year in 2022 ... and good shoes 🥾🍀🍀🐖🍾
On the way home, I decide at short notice to take the "Durbacher Weitblick" gourmet trail. https://www.durbach.de/tour/durbacher-weitblick-8202feab23 https://www.wanderinstitut.de/premiumwege/baden-wuerttemberg/durbacher-weitblick/ There are enough parking spaces in Durbach on the fairground (plus wine vending machine and toilet 😁). It goes straight up into the vineyards to the Vollmersplatz barbecue area. From here it goes uphill along a beautiful path directly along the Kahler Bach. Then the path winds, first wide, then becoming ever narrower, up to the Schnnufereckli and further steeply up to the sky lounger swing - wonderful, I could have stayed longer here! The path continues to climb until I circle the Heidenknie and then walk down through vineyards to the last farm in Lautenbach. Now I have to go up a bit to the Piahütte and from there down a nice zigzag path through the forest. Through vineyards to another farm in Lautenbach - and up again! The path leads through the vineyards with wonderful views over the Durbachblick Pavilion to the few houses of Sendelbach, well equipped with Schnapshäusles and wine fountains! After the last alcohol-free house called Werners Rebpavillon, the only way down is through the vines to the parking lot. CONCLUSION: A varied tour, many paths in the forest, many natural or covered with fine gravel paths through the vineyards, everything always nice and alternating. The tour rightly bears the name "Weitblick": especially in the vineyards there are wonderful views to the Hornisgrinde and the Strasbourg Cathedral! There are countless places to rest, mostly with a drinks station. Due to the ups and downs, the tour is much more strenuous than the number of kilometers would suggest and it took me a lot of time just to look and take pictures. When the weather is nice, an absolutely recommendable round!
Aimless through the universe of wines? No, just walked the Durbacher Weitblick hiking trail without Komoot planning. We recommend. A cozy little group. The hiking trail is very well signposted. Loriot would say: A hike in Durbach without wine 🍷 is possible, but pointless. But then I wouldn't join that. 😄
Today I met up with mountain goat Doris again for a run. The weather is fantastic, the route impressive, and our conversations were anything but boring...so everything went well. Now I'm exhausted and recovering...see you soon, mountain goat Doris 😍😘it was soooo nice with you again...
After a less-than-ideal night. 🤢 We changed the hiking trail and shortened it. It was supposed to be the "Durbacher Weitblick" (Durbach View). After just 300m, we had our first schnapps. But we skipped that because of the time. So we went up and up and down the mountain, and sometimes down. There were plenty of opportunities to take a break and, indeed, "Weisblick" (Wide View). It got increasingly colder, and after a short time, both of my calves were aching. While it was nice, while my daughter discovered the joy of hiking, I felt a growing reluctance. In the end, everyone had fun except me 🤣. It's a must sometimes. I think summer is the best time to hike there. The vineyards were quite barren.
