Even if your mouth is already watering: This tour has nothing to do with a hearty stew, even though it leads through the municipality of Linsengericht and the associated Gerichtswald forest. The name of the place actually goes back to a historic execution site and is possibly a variation of the name "Lindengericht." Today you can form your own opinion, with your focus on the beautiful trails and paths in the forest of the "Gateway to the Spessart."
The tour starts in the Großenhausen district and takes you straight into the forest to the Breitenborner Höhe. Beautiful paths climb up and down, constantly alternating with forest and farm roads. You pass the Galgenberg and then reach a beautiful descent into the Lützelbachtal valley and the village of Breitenborn. This is followed by a partly steep climb to the Franzosenkopf and the highest point of the tour at around 450 meters.
After a beautiful descent, you reach the EU Center Points Trail. Did you know that the geographical center of the European Union is located in the nearby municipality of Westergrund? Now you know, and you'll never forget it again – mountain biking is educational. Various information signs provide all sorts of details about the EU member states before you tackle the final section of the tour.
Shortly before the finish, the Frohnbügel Inn invites you to stop for a rustic break. Incidentally, the inn is located on the Bavarian side, while the Gerichtswald forest is located on Hessian soil. If you'd rather finish the tour first, there are other places to stop for refreshments in Großenhausen.
Tip for those traveling by train: The nearest train station is in Gelnhausen and is well connected to the rail network. For example, there are fast non-stop connections from Frankfurt with the Regional Express.

From Horbach we went past the Raue Heil, Kahler Kopf and Galgenberg back and up to the Franzosenkopf.
The route ran largely along the Gerichtswald paths (Tour 20 of the Spessartbiken network) extended by a few trails.
