Gravel in the Val d'Aran – Prüedo per Valarties

The ascent to Prüedo from Arties along the Valarties track is a concentrate of views and Pyrenean adventure. Although the distance and gradient figures are not striking, the amount of landscapes it crosses and the physical and technical challenge that some of the sections of this Route pose are an appetizer of the Catalan mountains.

The route is circular from a car park in Arties. We recommend that you bring enough water and food for the entire journey, in addition to bringing the bike in good condition and carrying some tools and light spare parts.

The climb is demanding, but the wonderful environment you climb through makes it worth every pedal stroke. Shortly before reaching the top, you can make a gentle detour to visit the beautiful lakes of Montcasau. The upper area is a spectacle: at more than 2000 meters above sea level, the panoramic views of the peaks are breathtaking.

The descent is also an adventure, try not to let the views distract you. Although, surely, you will make some stops to immortalize the landscape on a postcard. Before returning to Arties, the beautiful Tredós awaits you, a town of stone houses and winding streets. Both here and in Arties you can take the opportunity to delight in the local cuisine and recharge your batteries.
