Hiking
Rocks, forests, and plenty of variety: On the nearly 14-kilometer-long Felsenweg dream loop, you hike to spectacular rock formations, Celtic cult sites, and the remains of a medieval castle. It starts at the fire station in Waldhölzbach – right at the beginning, a steep climb awaits, and with the Teufelsfelsen (Devil's Rock), the first magnificent panorama.
The hike continues uphill through the pleasantly shady forest, briefly along the Saar-Hunsrück-Steig Trail. After the highest point of the tour, you reach the imposing Bärenfels (Bärenfels), followed later by other rock formations such as the Adelsfelsen (Adele Rock) and Schlangenfelsen (Snake Rock). Shortly before Scheiden, the landscape opens up – now, orchards and expansive views dominate the scene.
The final third of the trail leads through the idyllic Lannenbach Valley before climbing one last time. The loop ends on a relaxed flat section back to Waldhölzbach. Those who wish can relax at the nearby Hochwälder Wohlfühlhotel on the Losheim reservoir. You can find all information at: www.hochwaelder-wohlfuehlhotel.de.

The route is truly fantastic – lots of paths, some of them rooty and rocky (just the way I like it), with plenty of highlights.
