This tour leads past the foot of the famous north face of the Eiger and is a highlight for that reason alone. Easy ascent, which is very steep just before the Kleine Scheidegg, but is mobile. Great descent from Kleine Scheidegg to Lauterbrunnen. The last stretch to Grindelwald was also nice, but already too hot... today 🥵 Luckily started at 07:00 in the morning. I really liked this tour 🥰... that's why I took a lot of photos 😉😊
Biking Kleine Scheidegg August 18th, 2021 "at the foot of the Eiger north face" Weather: slightly cloudy / + 19 ° C I had a wonderful, very impressive bike experience today with Edgar. Together we drove to the Bernese Oberland shortly before 7 a.m. We started our tour at the Zweilütschinen train station. The first 12 kilometers, along the Lütschine to Grindelwald, were relatively flat, peppered with a few short crisp ramps and were perfect for getting us up to operating temperature. From Grindelwald we tackled the easy-to-ride, continuous ascent to the Kleine Scheidegg. The mighty Eiger north face towered up on our side. The view of the majestic wall made us appear very small at this moment and once again showed how incredibly beautiful and perfect nature is. In general, the ascent, indeed the whole tour, was in an almost kitschy, beautiful, breathtaking landscape, really typically Swiss. On the Alpiglen we took our well-deserved lunch break, enjoyed the fine rösti, which was baked with hearty cheese, and talked a little bit about God and the world together. After the break, we tackled the rest of the partly very steep stretch to Kleine Scheidegg. Unfortunately, thick clouds covered the unobstructed view of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau from Kleine Scheidegg. At that moment, the clouds skilfully covered the sun and made it quite fresh on the Kleine Scheidegg. So we went straight on again and were now looking forward to the descent to Lauterbrunnen. The route was very varied on dirt roads, wider and narrower paths, through fragrant forests and made the downhill experience very entertaining and fun. Shortly before Wengen we took another short break at the Allmend mountain restaurant, before the rest of the way led us back to our starting point in Zweilütschinen. https://infinityflow.ch/biken-kleine-scheidegg-18-8-2021/
Biking Kleine Scheidegg June 24, 2025 "In the Face of the Eiger North Face - A Bike Tour through the Bernese Oberland" Weather: fine / +27°C Together with Andi, we started our tour in Zweilütschinen, in the heart of the beautiful Bernese Oberland. The first few kilometers took us on pleasant terrain towards Grindelwald, a perfect opportunity to enjoy a leisurely ride. It wasn't entirely without effort, however. We also gained quite a bit of elevation gain on the way there. Just before Grindelwald, the view of the mighty Eiger North Face opened up. An impressive moment, and silence fell around us. The sight of this enormous rock face has a certain awe that deeply touched us and at the same time motivated us to continue into the mountains. From Grindelwald, the actual ascent to Kleine Scheidegg began. The route took us through a stunning, high-alpine landscape characterized by steep slopes, alpine meadows, and the omnipresent presence of the Eiger. A special highlight along the way was the stop at the Alpiglen mountain hut. There, we treated ourselves to a delicious snack, homemade, regional, and with a panoramic view that enhances every meal. The short break was a welcome relief before continuing our ascent. Refreshed, we tackled the final section of the ascent. Reaching the top of Kleine Scheidegg, we were treated to an impressive panorama, a fine reward for the effort of the climb. We also enjoyed a delicious burger for lunch at the chalet bar and simply let ourselves go. The subsequent descent via Wengen down to Lauterbrunnen was smooth and pleasant, with stunning views of the valley. From Lauterbrunnen, we finally relaxed and rolled back to Zweilütschinen, satisfied, fulfilled, and with many great images in our minds. https://infinityflow.ch/biken-kleine-scheidegg-24-6-2025/
After Grosse Scheidegg, a ride over Kleine Scheidegg was also in order on this beautiful day. To get to Brandegg, I first have to descend a bit from Alphaus to Aspen, and then it's simply uphill to Kleine Scheidegg. Unfortunately, it's initially on asphalt, but then it's gravel. Great views in all directions. Then down to Wengen (occasionally glimpsing the legendary Lauberhorn descent) and then the beautiful trail down to Lauterbrunnen. Along the way, I catch a quick glimpse of the famous Staubbach Falls, and then it's on to Zweilütschinen and back to Grindelwald. There, the final meters of ascent back to Alphaus await.
Great loop from Zweilütschinen. Clockwise via Grindelwald, Brandegg, Kleine Scheidegg to the Grindelwaldblick, where we stopped for lunch, then took the Mendelssohn Weg to Wengen and then a steep, winding descent to Lauterbrunnen and back. Very well signposted, and the panoramas were endless. Battery remaining: 31%. Navigated with Komoot. Garmin listed 1685 meters of elevation gain for the same route.
What a day! Weather like paint and a perfect tour! Start at the holiday home in Grindelwald with the e-bike to Kleine Scheidegg. Already accompanied by the triumvirate on the way, the view of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau from the Lauberhorn was even more impressive. This was climbed on foot from the mountain hotel with an altitude difference of around 300 meters. Back on the e-bike we went to the beautiful town of Wengen. On the way with breathtaking views of Mürren and the ice giants. Continue following MTB Route 1, past beautiful mountain streams back to Grindelwald. A perfect day!
Wonderful tour of the black Lütschine along to Zweilütschinen. Then to Lauterbrunnen along the white Lütschine. 3.5 km extremely steep ascent on a gravel road to Wengen. On to Kleine Scheidegg and back to Grindelwald. It was dry but unfortunately cloudy. Eiger and Mönch always enveloped in clouds. ------------------------------------ Wonderful tour along the river black Lütschine to the village Zweilütschinen. Continue to Lauterbrunnen along the river white Lütschine. From there 3.5 km extremely steep ascent on a small gravel path to Wengen. Continue to Kleine Scheidegg and back to Grindelwald. It was dry but unfortunately cloudy. Mt. Eiger and Mt. Mönch always enveloped in clouds.
