A beautiful hike from the Fürenalp, accompanied by a beautiful mountain backdrop rushing mountain streams that plunge from the Grassengrat into the deep valley. Across a very beautiful alpine meadow with magnificent alpine flora. Later then past the rushing Stäuber waterfall. From there a detour to the Blackenalp 35 min. During the alpine summer, a mountain restaurant with delicacies always tempts you. The hike is part of the Alpine Cheese Trail and leads past the Stäfeli Alpine Cheese Dairy and the Surenen Alpine Cheese Dairy. A beautiful path along the Engelberger Aa leads to the village of Engelberg. As I take the cable car up to the Fürenalp, the hike was not a challenge, but it is always nice to hike 🥾👍 & in this wonderful summer weather ☀️ anyway.
Today we were in Little Patagonia. The rock formations of the small and large Spannort actually reminded us strongly of the Torres del Paine National Park in Patagonia. We started at the Fürenalp mountain station and hiked through enchanting flower meadows to Blackenalp. There we treated ourselves to a sweet break and marveled at the mountains in the valley basin before descending at the Stäuberfall into the Surenental. The Stäuberfall is fed from the Stierenbach. This accompanied us until it flows into the Engelberger Aa near Stäfeli. We could admire numerous waterfalls from the mountains. A perfect day!
The climb over the waterfalls was strenuous but there was something new and worth seeing in every corner. Fürenalp offers everything a hiker's heart desires. Until then everything is fine. The descent to Engelberg via the chosen route was terrible! Trodden by cows, muddy, miserably steep and all in all not really nice. I was annoyed that I didn't go back the same way.
