Visited the suspension bridge and the waterfalls near Todtnau today. Brilliant 👌
The starting and ending point was at the visitor center parking lot. Unfortunately I started the recording too late. The day ticket for the bridge in combination with the waterfall costs €12 and entitles you to multiple entries. Sturdy shoes should be chosen for the waterfall path
Crossing the 450 m long suspension bridge is quite an experience. You should not be afraid of heights in order to be able to enjoy the wonderful view from the slightly swaying bridge over the waterfall and down into the valley towards Todtnau. Another tip for your visit: it can get a bit crowded with visitors, especially during the holiday season and at weekends. We planned our visit for the early morning hours and thus had free space on the bridge. Combined with a short circular hike to the foot of the 97 m high Todtnau waterfall, it is a special experience.
To conclude our Black Forest trip, we made a detour to Todtnau to see the "Blackforest Line" suspension bridge, opened in 2023, and the Todtnau waterfall. Admission was free with our guest card. The bridge is very impressive and offers great views. It was a nice end to a varied holiday. We experienced everything from 3 degrees and snow on the Feldberg to a summery 25 degrees in Sasbachwalden and hiked through very diverse landscapes.
Great location! The Black Forest Line is at around 985m altitude and spans the valley by around 200m. The highlight is the Todtnau waterfall, which can be reached about halfway along the suspension bridge. You are a good 150m above the waterfall. The view of the waterfall from above and the valley is breathtaking. On the other side you can either go back over the suspension bridge or hike along the well-developed path to the lowest point of the waterfall. It looks even more impressive from below. Another path then leads back up to the starting point.
A short trip to the Black Forest started with a tour along the Black Forest Line. The return trip then took us through the valley, past the Todtnau Waterfalls. Both were very impressive: the 450-meter suspension bridge, with a height of up to 120 meters, and the 100-meter-high waterfall. A must-see for anyone in the area.
Today's destination was actually the Ravenna Gorge, but since the ticket machine at the entrance to the parking lot wasn't working, we had no place to park. We'll see if it works again on Monday 😏 Since the loop wasn't planned... we forgot to start the tour right at the parking lot, so the walk across the BlackForestLine suspension bridge wasn't recorded yet 🤦
We visit the Black Forest Line in Todtnau, a 450-meter-long suspension bridge that hangs high above a valley through which the Todtnauer waterfall flows. Admission to the bridge costs 12 euros per person, but you can also choose to walk straight into the valley to the waterfall. We first crossed the bridge and then descended to the valley. It is a fairly tough walk, so good walking shoes are recommended, after which we visit the Rodelbaan which you can see on the right when you are standing on the bridge. https://youtu.be/MHPJXlql_1c
