Bergeralm Loop

This round starts at the summit of the Gerlitzen Alpe - easily accessible with the Kanzelbahn and chairlift from Annenheim. At around 1900 meters, the Gerlitzen Alpe towers over the Carinthian lakes and the city of Villach. In addition to wide views, you can also expect works by local artists, impressive stone statues and a section through the airy green mountain forest.

The best way to reach the Gerlitzen is by cable car from Annenheim via the Kanzelhöhe. It quickly goes downhill from the summit over the nearby alpine pastures. Past Tibetan-looking stone sculptures, you reach the imposing monument of Jacob's Ladder and shortly afterwards treat yourself to a short break on the sky lounger next to the tiny but idyllic rock lake.

You are now close to the extensive Feuerberg Mountain Resort and can leisurely hike around it. An open coniferous forest area provides refreshment and inspiring insights on the Philosophers' Path. On the way back uphill you need to be in good shape, but you will be rewarded with a fantastic view from the Gerlitzen weather cross. Back at the summit you can enjoy more great views and watch the paragliders or maybe even fly down into the valley on a tandem.
