On the seven-kilometer-long Dead Moor adventure trail at Lake Steinhude, you can discover the unique flora and fauna of this nature reserve. You can start either at the car park of the Old Moor Hut or at the Grossenheidorn Tower. If you return to the starting point at the end of the adventure trail, the total length is ten kilometers. Seven exciting stations await you along the route, which will take you into the fascinating world of moors and explain how these rare landscapes are protected.
Right at the start, you can let your gaze wander over Lake Steinhude and Wunstorf Moor from the observation tower. The trail continues through a birch avenue to fairytale water lily ponds and over a wooden footbridge. Here, at a marked point, you even have the option of entering the moor barefoot.
At the end of this tour, you can fortify yourself with delicious food and refreshing drinks in the Old Moor Hut. The seven to ten-kilometer-long route is suitable as a relaxed excursion for all fitness levels and is particularly suitable for children, who have a lot to discover here.
