The :aqualon-Runde takes you through the diverse nature of the Bergisches Land region. The connecting theme along the way: water in all its facets. The route starts at Schwanenplatz in Wermelskirchen, links the Panoramaradweg Balkantrasse with the Bergischer Panoramaradweg, and runs over the Bergisches Höhen hills to the Große Dhünn reservoir.
Along the way, you can expect the historic old town of Hückeswagen, the impressive Altenberg Cathedral, and the Hindenburg Tower with views over the Bergisches Land. In the :aqualon Forum, you can visit the exhibition "Wasser verbindet" (Water Connects) and learn more about regional water management.
Between Burscheid and Hückeswagen, the path runs pleasantly along former railway lines back towards the starting point.
Junctions for cycling by numbers: 24 - 25 - 29 - 28 - 30 - 83 - 33 - 31 - 45 - 44 - 65 - 67 - 62 - 11 - 15 - 24
Simply note the numbers on the practical junction tag, which is available from Radregion Rheinland e.V., attach it to your handlebars, and off you go.
Tip: With the help of the overview boards at the junctions, you can replan your tour at any time and flexibly shorten or extend it. You can find out how the system works in the explainer video from Radregion Rheinland. With the cycle-specific map view from Komoot, you can display further junctions on the Komoot map.
