Mountain biking

The Summerwald is THE classic among the single trails in the mountain bike destination Lenk-Simmental. It is considered one of the easier, but flowiest trails in the Simmental.

The tour starts in Lenk, from where the climb to Leiterli takes you on asphalt and gravel roads through mostly wooded areas to Wallbach. After you have crossed the idyllic mountain stream, the steep final bouquet is on the agenda. After a well-deserved break in the mountain house, it's time for the most beautiful part of every bike tour: the descent.

On a wide cart track you ride past the reservoir to Steinstoss, where the first section of single trail awaits. The original route 32V takes you on wide roads to the Summerwald Trail. If you are technically skilled, you can turn off onto the upper single trail at Steinstoss and add an additional loop over the Tungelpass and the Stigelberg. This variant is longer and offers even more of the finest trails than Route 32V. A gravel road then takes you back to the original route to Summerwald.

When you arrive in Summerwald, a trail that initially flows awaits you, which leads through a remote, beautiful forest area. Further down, roots and curves provide the necessary variety and increase the difficulty of the ride. The last section to the Chimpach Bridge is a welcome challenge for the technically skilled. Alternatively, this section can be bypassed on the easier alpine road. The road provides a breather for the next trail, which again flows along the Iffigbach and finally leads over the Seefluh back to Lenk.

If you want to avoid the climb up the Leiterli, you can use the Betelberg gondola in the summer months. Route 32V is signposted throughout, only on the alternative route over the Tungelpass do you have to find your way yourself - you already have the best app for that.

After my tour yesterday was a complete disaster because I followed the wrong version of the route on Komoot, everything was OK today. For my taste, there could have been more flowing trails. The detour to the waterfall is definitely worth it.

And finally, of course, Märzen in the Simmental beer garden

Very nice climb to Leiterli. Unfortunately extremely muddy from Steinstoos Alp. Then nice trail down to the valley. Thank you Bike Club Lenk for the washing facilities
