This was a strenuous and demanding tour with many highlights, highly recommended.
I'm much too fat, untrained and have a strong fear of heights - perfect conditions to tackle the second stage of the Natursteig Sieg. They say a pain shared is a pain halved... ...so I'm lucky that dear Jenny hiked with me. The route is very varied and the small paths often go up and down, giving me the chance to face my demons on more than one occasion. The weather was very nice and so there was a good view. The stage demanded a lot from me, but in the end every step was worth it.
Fantastic weather, hiking events and hiking vacations are getting closer and closer, so get out into nature. And since I hiked the first stage of the Natursteig Sieg a few days ago, I decided to hike the Natursteig Sieg again completely as my second hiking project. In daily stages, and at the end maybe again with overnight stays. I didn't remember that this stage had so many climbs. But altitude meters are always a good training. And the knee killer, the descent from the Stachelsberg, hasn't gotten any easier either. I gladly used the tensioned ropes. Overall, it was again a beautiful hike in greening nature with lots of birdsong. And the LPNV also worked according to my wishes. Some sections are still a bit muddy, but new boots with a good profile are ideal. It was great and I'm already looking forward to the next stage 😊
A nice up-and-down tour, but it took longer than Komoot indicated, and I took lots of short breaks. What I also find strange is that when I saved the tour, it only had 410 meters of elevation gain, but when I started in Blankenberg, it said 430 meters, and when I finished, it suddenly said 470 meters. Well, I made it and rode home exhausted but happy. 😃😉🥾⛅️🌿
As we were hiking with GPS, we suddenly found ourselves on the Bröl in front of a sign indicating a landslide. Unfortunately, there was no sign before any junction that the path had been rerouted. Therefore there are approx. 3km more than planned in the original tour. Very nice hike. Stages 1 and 2 completed.

It wasn't a walk in the park. Somehow the cat took every hill on the way with it, and that was really mountainous. Today we're hiking from Blankenberg on the Sieg downstream to Hennef. This route is excellently signposted. It is also the 2nd stage of the Siegsteig and at the same time the Bergischer Weg. You don't need to navigate at all. Just enjoy and be amazed: how much of the route is on narrow paths and how densely wooded you can be on the way. Super beautiful!
Beautiful forest and meadow route... mostly paths with occasional inclines. Good fitness is required here, but by no means alpine experience as originally stated in the description. Long trousers, hiking boots and mosquito spray are recommended in summer. Free parking is available in front of Blankenberg train station. From Hennef take the S19 back to Blankenberg. Have fun.
