Today I'm taking you on a circular hike and summit tour to Roque Nublo, the iconic landmark of Gran Canaria at 1803 meters. This rocky finger rises like a gigantic sculpture 65 meters above the base. It's the remnant of a former volcanic vent, eroded away by the sea. First, do the circular hike to acclimatize to the altitude, then head up to the summit plateau and enjoy the view. From here, you can see as far as Mount Teide on Tenerife and Pico de las Nieves, at 1954 meters the highest mountain in Gran Canaria. Very important: reserve your access online first; without a reservation, there's no entry, and it's strictly controlled! The shuttle bus is recommended, as there are only a handful of parking spaces.
it is the most popular island tour to the 1803 m high Roque Nublo 😊 it was a guided tour with transfer it is the landmark of Gran Canaria and an old Canarian cult place, the sculpture itself, the cloud rock is 65 m high 😳 there were umpteen different wild herbs to see on the easy tour 😊 but it was also almost 30 C up there PS : and now all I can think of is the sea 😂
It's easy hike for everybody with a nice panoramic views of the island. Try to arrive to parking lot before 10a.m. The parking space very limited.
Today we walked to the Roque Nublo "cloud rock". Located almost in the middle of Gran Canaria. Unique walk on various types of surfaces. Spotted several trail runners and then it starts to itch 🤪. Unique experience. My daughter thought the photo of the Roque Nublo was "really beautiful" 🤣🤣
Reservations are required (free of charge). As of March 2025
Today we went to the symbol of the island, the Roque Nublo (cloud rock). To be honest, I didn't expect too much from it... All the more I was positively surprised and I'm downright excited! A beautiful, mostly stony path leads from the parking lot up to the Roque Nublo plateau, along the way and at the top there are brilliant views in all directions! You can explore the Roque yourself, and the circular route through the pine forest is also highly recommended! Usually well attended, but the crowd is spread out very well, the circular route is almost empty. A great tour that I absolutely recommend!
Today we set off alone again, we took bus number 18 directly to the starting point, the journey took 1.5 hours. At first it was quite foggy and cool, but then the weather showed its best side. We were even lucky and the Teide showed itself from time to time.
