Presented as one of the jewels of Brittany, Ploumanac’h offers breathtaking landscapes. Located on the Côte de Granit Rose, it is a unique place in France.
The route begins at La Clarté. Don't forget to visit the Notre-Dame chapel before setting off. Legend has it that it was built by a sailor in gratitude to the Virgin Mary for having protected him during a storm at sea.
The route crosses the Christian Gad and Daniel Chhe sculpture park. This original place reveals no less than seven sculptures more than two meters high. This is followed by the port of Ploumanac’h and the Bastille park. Located between land and sea, this green space offers beautiful views of the Costaérès castle. This neo-medieval style manor is characteristic of the large holiday houses of the late 19th century on the Pink Granite Coast.
The route then takes the customs officers' path, concomitant with the GR 34. This runs along the coast and allows you to discover the Ploumanac'h lighthouse, also known as the Mean Ruz lighthouse. It is one of the most emblematic of Brittany. You then discover the rocky masses of pink granite which owe their color to the presence of iron oxide impurities. In the distance on the horizon, you can see the archipelago of the seven islands. It is the largest nature reserve in France since its extension in August 2023.
The end of the route runs along the coastline via beautiful green paths before reaching the starting point on the heights of La Clarté.

Superb walk. Very busy, but with exceptional views of the Pink Granite Coast. Free parking, but at first, the small detours along the streets are unnecessary in my opinion. Then the entire route is perfect.
The Pink Granite Coast greeted us with low tide. So the entry was a little unattractive at first, but it had many advantages. We could walk on the seabed, climb over rocks and had the best view of Didi Hallervorden's castle. Spectacular rock formations kept cropping up. A bit crowded, but that was to be expected 😉
A trip to the Côte de Granit Rose, which lives up to its name, especially here. Accordingly, this section of the GR34 coastal hiking trail, the customs officer's path, which runs for over 2000! kilometers around the Breton coast from Mont-Saint-Michel to Saint-Nazaire, was well attended. A huge sea of rocks by the sea, with isolated houses, farms and castle-like buildings in between, braving the elements on this rough coast. You can't help but be amazed.
We parked for free at the church. There's a very large parking lot 🅿️. We walked through alleys and streets to a mill and then to a sculpture park. Then we came across the classic circular trail through the Granite Rose stone world. It was very busy today for a Wednesday; we'd had a quieter day earlier 😊 Always beautiful here.
From the campsite you can easily walk the circuit along the section of the pink granite coast that is considered the most famous. You should pay attention to the tides because at high tide you can only see half of all the rocks. I took a lot of photos because if you let your imagination run wild you can often see something in them. Have fun :-)
Super exciting impressions. Pink Granite Coast. Lots of people on the way and the way back with the last 1-2km is on the road and should be replanned
Today, the Pink Granite Coast. From Ploumanac'h to Saint-Guirec and once around the peninsula. In Saint-Guirec, there was a festival in honor of the Welsh monk (Saint-Guirec) who founded a monastery there.
