Today we went first with rain ☔️ over the Gaisalmsteig towards Pertisau Luckily it got brighter again quickly, so that we could even take a refreshing footbath. From Maurauch we have the bus 🚌 to Jenbach and on with the Zillrtalbahn to Fügen, the start of our tomorrow's stage
The third day of our Ü began once again with a hearty breakfast in the Resort Hotel Achensee. At this point I would like to praise the hotels and inns selected by "Feuer & Eis". Everyone had great service, delicious food and very nice rooms. Some even had a spa area, which is really beneficial on a tour like this. After the already mentioned breakfast, a short detour to the SPAR to stock up on enough water and then off to the Achensee. A beautiful hiking trail, the Mariensteig, leads directly along the Achensee. The path was very pleasant to walk and we always had a great view of the lake. Halfway to Pertisau is the Gaisalm, which can only be reached on foot or with one of the Achensee boats. Despite the many people there, the Alm has a certain charm and the location is fantastic. After a short lunch break, we hiked on to Pertisau, where a detour to the Tyrolean stone oil factory is worthwhile. The last part of today's stage led us along the road to Maurach am Achensee (this route was less beautiful, however). From Maurach we were then chauffeured by bus and train to the next destination in Fügen. Our hotel "Elisabeth" was still a few minutes away from the train station and it was always uphill. Another real challenge at the end of the day. However, we were compensated for the effort by a great pool area. The outdoor pool in particular offered a gigantic view of the Zillertal Alps.
Today we went on a beautiful hiking trail along Lake Achensee in beautiful sunshine. Highly recommended tour.
Today it was a wonderful pleasure hike from Achenkirch to Maurach. Along the Mariensteig we had fantastic views of Lake Achensee. For Mariensteig you should be free from giddiness and sure-footed.
We continued with the Zillertalbahn to Fügen, where we continue tomorrow
Day 3: From Achenkirch, continue along the beautiful path along Lake Achensee. Via the Gaisalm and Pertisau to Maurach. From there, take the bus and train to Fügen in the Zillertal.
Today was the most beautiful hiking weather. The route to the Geisalm again required a lot of courage from me. It was pointed out at the beginning that it was a bit dangerous and that you should be free from heights. From the Alm onwards it became easier except for a few places.
Today it should be a technically more demanding tour in a dreamlike environment. That's why @DebbyK and I decided on the Gaisalmsteig on the Achensee in Austria, which is also part of the crossing of the Alps from Tegernsee to Sterzing. The emerald-green Achensee lies like a fjord between the Austrian mountains and radiates an almost Italian flair when the sun is shining. The Gaisalmsteig runs along the western shore of Lake Achensee. From Achenkirch to the Gaisalm it goes up and down steep and stepped rock paths. At the entrance to the trail there is a warning sign that should be taken seriously. A head for heights and good shoes are recommended, even if many critical points are secured by wire ropes and railings. The tour is by no means a stroll. The views of the lake from the trail are phenomenal.

A spectacular hiking trail, which we hiked in March 2016. From breakfast to noon you make the full trip back and forth. The warning "you should be free from giddiness" should take beginners seriously. Narrow paths close to the dripping precipice - simply spectacular. Hats off, who built the path with
