This route was planned by komoot.
Continuing along the Rhône, we finally pass through the Rhône's inland delta to Lake Geneva. And suddenly everything is completely different – a lot of traffic, but a beautiful bike path right along the lake all the way to Montreux.
Now begins the final section of the valley before the Rhone River flows into Lake Geneva. Here, too, our path is flanked by various types of fruit. And then, at some point, the milky, murky water of the Rhone River flows into the lake. But the sediments settle so quickly that the lake remains crystal clear, and you can see to a depth of several meters.
A pleasant bike trip. Super signage 👍🚴 with a nice bike route ☺️🌼🙋 ♀️ at the beginning of this morning only a short visit to the market 💚🍏🥧 Then off to the track ☺️ The velodrome near Aigle is a nice sporty place .... If you bring some time .. You can use the training course 😉🚴 Food is fresh and sporty delicious 😋. Where the Rhone meets the lake (Lac Leman) is a must see. I allowed myself the detour. Striking today were the many sporty 🚴♂️ who all said hello - thank you 🌸☺️ The rising winds from Lake Geneva when the weather is nice can cause strong headwinds throughout the tour 💨🎐🌬️ https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Union_Cycliste_Internationale
Through the vineyards, and later through apple orchards, I reached Martigny around noon. The southernmost point of the tour was reached. Then we continued following the Rhone in a north-westerly direction, with a good headwind. As a detour, in order not to make the route too boring, I took a junction that, according to Komoot, someone had marked as a gravel route. In reality, however, it was a completely uneven hiking trail with thousands of roots. And one of them even turned out to be a snake. With occasional pushing, I later got back on the bike route until the river said goodbye about 10 km before Montreux. The journey then went through the middle of tranquil Villeneuve and immediately afterwards I was on the shores of Lake Geneva. As is well known, this is not that small. The water of the Rhone is said to need an average of 11 years before it flows out again at the other end of the lake.
