Hard road ride. Very good fitness required. Mostly well-paved surfaces and easy to ride. The starting point of the route is right next to a parking lot.

As the highest Alpine pass in Switzerland, the Nufenen Pass takes cyclists to an impressive elevation of 2,478 meters. With its steep climbs and thin air, this pass challenges even the most experienced athletes. However, the view from the summit, which offers sweeping vistas over the surrounding high mountains, is a reward worth every drop of sweat. The route traverses a less populated, wild landscape, creating a sense of true adventure.
Nufenen Pass or Nufenen Pass (German: Nufenenpass), is the second highest Alpine pass in Switzerland after the Umbrail Pass (2,503 m above sea level). It connects the Canton of Ticino with the Canton of Valais. I started from the village of Fontana and, traveling along the entire Bedretto valley, I reached the pass. In the Bedretto valley The Ticino river is born, which runs through the entire valley. The road is beautiful and of the right width. It's a little busy, but not too much. Certainly less than the Stelvio pass. In some places it is quite steep, but I didn't have any particular difficulty. It's all in the sun, but I did the last 2 km with my jacket because the wind was cold. I passed young ibex digging at the edge of the road looking for salt (I imagine). A single water fountain in the All'Acqua hamlet (about halfway)
