The fantastic tour to Chinzig Chulm is hidden in the Swiss canton of Schwyz in the immediate vicinity of Lake Lucerne. The round is very strenuous, but really great! It is characterized by its fine gravel roads, cozy refreshments and a breathtaking panorama. So don't be surprised if it makes it to the top of your favorites list in no time.
It starts in a parking lot in Flüelen. For the first few kilometers you roll comfortably along the lakeshore. You always follow the signposted route number 417. The first long climb begins in the picturesque village of Sisikon, which takes you partly over asphalt and partly over gravel through the idyllic Riemenstaldner Valley. After a rapid descent and another 300 meters in altitude, you will pass the Lipplisbüel mountain restaurant and the alpine restaurant of the same name. Here you can replenish your energy reserves and recharge your batteries for the journey.
Well fortified, you then cycle up the Chinzertal. The higher you go, the steeper it gets. Only those who have a lot of power in their legs and a light gear ratio on the bike can master this section with flying colors. At 2,073 meters you have reached the Chinzig-Chulm summit. Congratulations!
After a long break, a captivating singletrack descent follows, which is admittedly a bit bumpy without suspension. With wide tires, low air pressure and excellent driving skills, you can also get down here on a gravel bike. However, if that seems too tricky for you, just push a short distance. After about a kilometer it becomes much easier again.
You then roll back over the Eggberge on wide gravel roads - sometimes uphill and sometimes downhill. Finally, you go straight down through the Altdorfer Forest and in no time you are back at the starting point of the tour.

Chinzig Bike Loop: Mega Panorama! 🇨🇭🤩👌 Almost everything can be ridden on a gravel bike, only the first few meters of the descent after the summit are technically very demanding. But the piece is not long, so you can push it easily. However, good legs and easy gaits are essential.
