Monument to the founder of the national park. The streets are more suitable for running, the trails that start from up here have an alpine character and you can't run them, only hike them. Sitting on Cadillac Mountain in the evening is recommended, the car density is definitely lower than during the day.

The ridge trail north of the Featherbed is completely exposed except for a short forested section just before the summit. Especially if you are running up for sunrise, the trail may windy and brining extra layers is recommended. There are a few places near the forested section by the summit where the trail narrows and you should beware of running into hikers. You will have to rock scramble some parts near the summit and the climb out of the featherbed is steep and better suited for power hiking, but otherwise the bare back of the mountain is quite runnable and a joy to descend.
