This beautiful loop of approximately 23 kilometers and 1,000 meters of elevation gain takes you to the heights of the Basque Country, dancing on the Franco-Spanish border. It starts from the small village of Urepel, nestled in the Aldudes valley.
The first kilometers have little elevation gain and allow you to enjoy lovely views of the village. You then go up a beautiful track which rushes into the forest alongside a peaceful stream. A first dry but short climb lifts you above this wooded part. You are about to enter Spain when you find a wider track.
Moving through a magnificent forest again, you make a slight downhill portion before going back up on a large ridge introduced by the Enokerri. Here, the landscape is discovered and the panoramas open up. A very pleasant path leads from peak to peak, such as Artsalgo Gaina and Argintzu. As you advance, the horizon expands and you discover some of the mysteries of the Basque Country.
You conclude this magnificent section by bypassing the Lohiluze, before diving into a long downhill section. This rushes into a magnificent and generous forest until it brings you back to your starting point, the village of Urepel.
