Hiking
Hohenklingen Castle towers high above the medieval town of Stein am Rhein. It is one of the highlights of your Hemishofen circular hike. Even the climb to the castle is a pleasure. The view extends over the Hegau, Lake Constance and the Rhine shine at your feet. It is also worth visiting the castle from the inside. You can also treat yourself to culinary delights in the restaurant, in the Burgstube, in the Knight's Hall or in the airy Obergaden. There is also a barbecue area at Hohenklingen Castle.
It's not just this spur castle that will captivate you. Another highlight is the Wolkenstein ruins on the Wolkensteinerberg, of which almost nothing remains. The view over Hemishofen and the Rhine makes up for this. The starting point of your tour is the community of Hemishofen, which is affectionately known as the pearl on the Rhine. You can easily reach the place by train. You need a bit of fitness for the 15 kilometer long hike, otherwise it is easy to do.
