The Kneipp Association was out near Solnhofen today with 20 people in light rainy weather. Despite the bad weather, the mood in the group was good on this short hike. Lunch at the 13.Apostel restaurant in Eßlingen was good, the homemade cakes were excellent. On the way back over the Teufelskanzel, full concentration was required again on the wet meadow path. Beautiful round with colored, autumnal leaves.
Wonderful tour on this and the other side of the Altmühl from the Solnhofen train station. Paths and paths through the unspoilt forest alternate with ascents over mountain meadows, a flat section through the Altmühltal, beaten paths above the Apostel and finally a descent through the village. There are always fantastic views of the valley, from or onto the Apostles or from or onto the Teufelskanzel. A certain degree of surefootedness and a head for heights is sometimes required. I would advise against turning the loop around: the steepest climb is to Teufelskanzel. I would not have liked to walk down this section. Before and after the Aposteln, beer gardens offer opportunities to stop off.
Yesterday rain, today beautiful weather. That's why I used the rest day of our Almühltal bike tour for a hike. It was worth it! The circular route from Solnhofen to the Teufelskanzel and then to the opposite side of the valley to the rock formations of the 12 apostles is not far, not difficult and offers great nature experiences and many beautiful vantage points.
Great hike 🥾 Mega beautiful paths and no crowds 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Winter hiking to the 12 APOSTLES in Solnhofen... unfortunately the 13th apostle had a winter break... 🤷♀️
Strangely the way is called 12 apostles but I also found the 13th 😜😂 you just have to rewrite the story 🤔😂😂
