This route was planned by komoot.
This trail is classified as difficult and requires very good fitness and advanced riding skills. Riders should be prepared for challenging ascents, and some sections may even necessitate pushing the bike. Its technical difficulty is rated around STS S2, with some parts potentially reaching S3, indicating technical singletracks.
The terrain along this approximately 46.5 km loop is diverse. You will encounter technical single trails with rocky and rooty surfaces, particularly in sections that ascend Monte Luppia. There are also dirt roads and some paved stretches. The varied landscape includes rugged cliffs, Mediterranean woodlands, and alpine valleys.
The estimated duration for completing this mountain bike loop is approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes (13,554 seconds). However, this can vary depending on your fitness level, riding speed, and time spent enjoying the views.
The trail starts near Punta San Vigilio. While specific parking details for this exact trailhead are not provided, you can generally find parking options in the vicinity of Punta San Vigilio or Garda, which is a common starting point for routes in the area. Public transport options to Garda are also available.
The route offers exceptional panoramic views along Lake Garda. Notable highlights include the Garda Promenade and Harbor, a View of Punta San Vigilio, the Lakeside Promenade of Torri del Benaco, and the Castelletto di Brenzone Harbor. You'll also pass through the ancient village of Campo and enjoy a View of Lake Garda from Castello and from Albisano. Monte Luppia is a key feature, providing memorable technical single-trail experiences and spectacular lake views.
While there are no explicit restrictions mentioned for dogs on this specific trail, its 'difficult' classification and technical sections (S2-S3 singletracks) mean it might not be ideal for all dogs, especially those not accustomed to challenging terrain or long distances. If you bring your dog, ensure they are fit enough and always keep them on a leash, especially in populated areas or near wildlife.
The Lake Garda region is generally best for mountain biking in the spring (April-May) and autumn (September-October). During these seasons, the weather is typically milder, and the trails are less crowded than in the peak summer months. Summer can be very hot, making the demanding climbs even more challenging.
No specific permits or entrance fees are generally required to access this mountain bike trail. However, always be mindful of local regulations, especially if passing through private land or protected areas, though this route primarily uses public access trails.
Yes, the route intersects and utilizes sections of several other trails. You will ride parts of the Punta San Vigilio - Crero, Percorsi tra il bosco e gli ulivi, Giro del Crero (Torri del Benaco), Anello Campo - 3 Nordic Walking Park, Monte Luppia, and Percorso del Pellegrino, among others.
Given the trail's difficulty and length, it's essential to be well-prepared. Bring plenty of water, energy snacks, a repair kit for your bike (including spare tubes/patch kit), a first-aid kit, appropriate mountain biking gear (helmet, gloves, protective eyewear), and navigation tools like a GPS device or the komoot app with the downloaded tour. Sunscreen and layers of clothing are also recommended.
The route passes through several villages and towns along Lake Garda, such as Garda, Torri del Benaco, and Castelletto di Brenzone. These locations offer opportunities to find cafes, restaurants, and shops where you can refuel, purchase snacks, or enjoy a meal. It's always a good idea to carry some provisions, especially for the more remote sections.

Beautiful MTB tour from Garda to Campo di Brenzone to see the nativity scenes. Easy return between the lakeside cycle path and the asphalt road with little traffic in this period. Route suitable for MTB In gravel you need agile ratios Minimum 40mm tires and take into account having to push in 4 different points of the track (small things not too long ) . Have fun
Wikipedia: Summer resort. meanings: obsolete: time to let work rest, to go to a place with a pleasant climate, and the place to relax. Maybe the photos repeat themselves slowly, but our enthusiasm for this area just doesn't let up, the most important thing about Lake Garda is that everyone finds their personal niche.....
The existence of the Campo district can be found as early as 1023. a characteristic medieval village, formed by a group of stone houses, uninhabited and gathered on themselves. There are the remains of a castle covered by vegetation and the village church with well-preserved frescoes from the 13th and 14th centuries of Byzantine influence inside. The Tibetan bridge on Lake Garda is a 34-meter long suspension bridge built with a steel walkway. The bridge is very safe. Obviously, walking on the perforated grid you can see the overhang at your feet (for a maximum height of 45 meters), so it is not suitable for those who suffer from vertigo. The Tibetan bridge was inaugurated in 2019, it designs one of the most panoramic routes on Lake Garda.
Very nice tour for beginners. The route from Torri to Brenzone can be mastered very well without any significant climbs. The dreamlike scenery of Lake Garda opens up. Shortly after Pai, the Lake Garda cycle path can be used.
Directly in San Zeno, the route goes steeply downhill to the right, extremely technically demanding on fairly thick and loose stones. Some passages are almost impossible to drive, so you just get off and push. After about 150m it gets better and the rest of the route is ridable for average mountain bikers. Less confident drivers should avoid the route. Later via Garda, the route is very easy to drive. At the lake it goes back to Brenzone, whereby the footpath and cycle path at the lake can only be used again in the municipality of Brenzone.
Tour from Garda to Malcesine and back. The weather was cloudy but dry, on the way back the wind picked up a bit, the temperature was just under 20 degrees. On the way from the hotel we skipped the detour via Garda, we went a few kilometers through the hinterland, very beautiful, only the descent to the lake was so steep that I burned my fingers when testing the brake discs... :-). We then went along the road for a good 3 km (luckily there was little traffic), then on a cycle path parallel to the road, which was easy to ride and not very busy. Malcesine itself was definitely worth the tour. A nice stroll through the narrow streets, a visit to the castle and a delicious pizza, what more could you want. The way back then took the same route due to a lack of alternatives, but a different view and a bit of sun shining through the increasingly dark clouds made the whole thing quite interesting. This time we took the detour via Garda, then walked a bit more along the road, but the climb was not 20% or more... Conclusion: Worse weather than yesterday, much better to ride, both places worth seeing!
