After yesterday's rainy day, THAT'S some compensation! Pure sunshine... 🌞😎😍 Amazing weather... and the view... 👍😉🗻 Great tour... 🥾🐾💪
Today we went on another great, enjoyable hike. From the St. Christina valley we took the gondola 🚠 up to the "Col Raiser". The first view of the Sasso Lungo, which we circled yesterday, was hidden behind clouds today. 🌫 We started our hike with the ascent towards Seceda. It was still empty here in the morning. Just before Seceda we were met by crowds of people who wanted to take "THE" photo. Some of them were doing things that weren't entirely safe (you might notice it in the pictures). 🙈🫤 I didn't know that this also seems to be a hotspot viewpoint.🤔 So we skipped the Seceda summit cross and hiked to the Troier Hut for a stopover. From here we headed towards the Pieralongia Hut. From here the paths became much emptier. The view of the Geisler Group and the surrounding mountains with low-hanging clouds was simply fantastic today too. ⛰️⛰️⛰️🥰 Today we also had some animal encounters 🐄, 🦙, 🫏 and again 🦫.👏🏼😀 A great tour in a beautiful landscape. ⛰️🫶🏼
Beautiful, promising tour with many places to stop for refreshments along the way. Quite strenuous due to the sometimes steep climbs, but the effort is rewarded. If you take the cable cars to Seceda, be sure to check the time for the last ride beforehand. Have fun hiking
Panoramic views and lots of 🥾🥾🥾😅, Okay, Sunday's tour was highly sought after by many, but you can always find paths where it's a bit quieter... The panorama, the mountain meadows in full bloom, is truly breathtakingly beautiful. There are many huts/alpine pastures along the way...it's really worth stopping for a bit 🐾
Great tour from the Seceda mountain station. There were again a lot of people out and about near the mountain station. That's why we walked a small, narrow path that is not listed in Komoot. However, only sure-footed hikers should follow these. As you continue, you have great views of the mountains of the Dolomites. Pictures cannot convey these impressions... it's best to go there yourself!!! No matter which route you take, it will be unforgettable!!!
What more can I say about this unique area? We were here two years ago, but the weather was bad. This time it was fantastic, and our route was a bit longer, via the Regensburger Hut. This part, a bit removed from the tourist hotspot, is a welcome contrast to the familiar images of the Seceda.
The most beautiful walk I've ever done !!!! Postcard landscapes
For our Seceda hike, we chose the Col Raiser cable car in St. Christina as our starting point. The advantage: Not only is it significantly cheaper than the Seceda cable car in Ortisei, it also ends about 400 meters below the summit. This gave us that mountain feeling while hiking up, rather than stopping right at the summit. 3 degrees Celsius and sunny. So, jackets off, jacket on - depending on the wind strength. The hiking direction was perfect, because the ascent counterclockwise is definitely steeper and longer. Like lemmings, we climbed over the summit to the Panascharte (Fort Panas Pass) – which is hardly to be expected from a tourist highlight of the season. Unfortunately, you are not allowed to continue past the fork. So we descend towards the Pieralongia Hut, where a marmot fearlessly watches us. The path becomes less crowded, and a gigantic panorama of rocks opens up before us. In fact, on this tour, you seem to see all the peaks the Dolomites have to offer. It's always overwhelming.
