Spinc and the White Route from Glendalough — Wicklow Mountains National Park

The path around the Upper Lake is fantastic. Great views... we went around to the left, which seemed better afterwards... The route is marked with white arrows (we started off a little differently at the beginning) The circular path around the Lower Lake is only worth seeing because of the old cemetery... I would go back a bit afterwards and take the green route. Saves the narrow road

Today there was a hike in the Wicklow Mountains, starting from Glendalough.... Past a very large and old cemetery. The special thing here: here is one of the highest, still preserved round towers from the past. Passing Lower and then Upper Lake we continued up the Miners Way, not a difficult path, very nice zig zag... Always along a creek. Then suddenly at the top we went over a bridge to a long stretch of wooden floorboards, provided with umpteen steel loops so that you don't slip. We needed that too, because in the meantime it had started to rain lightly. The descent was partly with floorboards, then gravel. Very pleasant.

We started from Bray and took the bus to Glendalough. Where the day started with a bright blue sky, the sky got bigger and bigger with every kilometer that we got closer to our destination. We ran the tour in the opposite direction and started through the mining village. Good decision, because that was a small effort. When we arrived at the top, we were greeted first with rain, then with hail and then with snow. But that was all so bad, because the view is priceless in the beautiful tour. Highly Recommended!

The start yesterday was rather tough. Flight 1.5 hours late. Then the rental car died at the first red light, on a busy street. Well, a stoned bike rider was nice enough to roll us off the road. Not to mention the traffic on the left, which I can't deal with yet 🙈 We arrived at 1 am. The first tour today was perfect and beautiful. And has already fulfilled every cliche about Ireland 😊

Anyone who takes a holiday in Ireland and likes to hike will find an ideal area for it in the Wicklow Mountains. This area can be easily reached from Dublin in 1 1/2 hours, so it is also very suitable for an extended city trip!

That was an interesting tour in Ireland with a diverse landscape. At the beginning, we almost felt like we were hiking in the Harz Mountains, 30 minutes later, it became alpine, and by the end, we definitely felt like we were hiking in the Alps. The tour was rounded off by the ancient monastery complex of Glendalough. So, if you're planning an active tour of Ireland, the Wicklow Mountains and Glendalough should definitely be on your list.

A beautiful day hike up the Sinc and along the white route! The reward is especially when you get to the top and look down at Glendalough and the two lakes! The weather was perfect! Highs during the day were 16-17 degrees, and it clouded over a bit in the afternoon but stayed dry. The climb up the Sinc was a bit strenuous, but easy. You stop to enjoy the view, not to relax. Definitely a beautiful hike with great views!
