This route was planned by komoot.
Really interesting tour with repeated views of Fort La Latte at the beginning. The port of Saint Cast and the small shops in the city center are very varied and beautiful (note the lunch break, almost all of them close then). The path at Point de la Garde is very narrow, so it shouldn't rain there. Luckily we got caught in the rain 🌧️🤪 in the last half hour. The last 2 km run along a stream: waterproof shoes are a good idea. Don't be put off: the path leads across a meadow, has been mown and is an official hiking and riding path. We really liked the tour 👍🏻
The hike goes from the Grande Plage in St-Cast-le-Guildo via the coastal footpath GR34 (customs officer's path) to the small port of Port St-Jean. From there it goes inland on small roads back to the starting point. The hike is easy to walk. Sure-footedness is practical in some places. The hike is described in detail in the Rother hiking guide "Bretagne". We walked it a little differently in a few places.
Hiked another piece of GR34 today. We started from Saint-Cast, a little inland and then hiked the beautiful part of the GR. Along the Baie de la Fresnaye, a bay arm that is huge and free when the tide is out. There are also oyster beds here. This route once again had great views (later also of Fort La Latte and the lighthouses at Cap Fréhel). But this time it only went up and down with short but crisp 😀 very steep paths. The steepest parts often had stairs. Komoot once again didn't record the altitude correctly, it was a total of 320. Again very nice 🥰
