This route was planned by komoot.
Today is a beautiful day to walk around the ile de Bréhat. Degree 16, some refreshing wind and sun drenched. Boat trip takes 10 minutes and you can also return all day. We have added an extra GR 34
The last part is missing, thanks to Komoot which closes the application and automatically ends the tour. Finish by following the south-east coast. This loop allows you to make the most of the island while avoiding the majority of tourists.
Very nice walk that goes around the island of Bréhat but the route is not reliable. I think it has not been checked for a long time; at km 2.6, you arrive on private property and you are forced to turn around; at km 4.6, there is a sign "risk of collapse" and it is really impossible to continue without taking risks; in several places you have to take extremely bushy and difficult to access paths (you can clearly see that they have not been used for a long time). Apart from that, it is a very beautiful route that takes you through many magnificent landscapes and is really worth it. We particularly recommend the Paon lighthouse (km 6.8) with its roaring waves, the Saint-Michel chapel (km 10.8) with a magnificent landscape and the tide mill (km 12.2). The circuit is not easy and good shoes are essential; departure from Bourg where you can do your shopping for the day.
The Île-de-Bréhat is a true gem!!! However, you can probably only enjoy it if you're not there during peak season. In spring, as was the case with us, it's also a delight because of the many flowers and other flora. However, one mustn't forget that in addition to the flora of flowers, bushes, and wonderful trees (!!!), the buildings and the panorama are absolutely extraordinary! There are many large, sprawling old trees, and especially at low tide, the views of the rocky landscape with their various hues are fantastic. You often don't know where to look first when you turn the next corner. And there are truly many corners on the Île-de-Bréhat! In fact, the entire island is a continuous string of highlights that never seems to end! Absolutely worth more than one visit!!! If you want to enjoy all this in peace, you should stay away from the large tourist crowds, if possible. In other words, avoid the summer, but rather the off-peak season, and avoid the main paths. The enchanted side paths are usually much more beautiful anyway! One final tip: the island is, of course, highly recommended at high tide, but the full splendor of colors and shapes is best seen at low tide!!! Then it's even better!
Inspired by @Gael, we took advantage of the summer weather to return to Bréhat. The island covers 3 hectares and can easily be visited in a short day. There were already a lot of people there, many cyclists, but the small trails were not very busy. A very protected island in terms of urban planning, without cars, which makes it a very "exotic" place.
No route recording from CM Pors Don to Île de Bréhat
Lack of time to do the entire tour of the island.
