August 19, 2024, "Awesome August" 🤪 Chapter Two oder #Pässe#Ballern#Bormio Mortirolo ⛰️ und Gavia Pass ⛰️

Finally cycling again today. 🚴🏻 The weather was still pretty overcast ☁️ and there was still light rain 🌧️ in the morning, but from 10 a.m. there was no stopping it. 🚴🏻💨 The first 25km were a quick warm-up to Mazzo di Valtellina. 😊 Then the invitation 💌 appears on the left: "If you really want to push yourself, go this way" ➡️🥵 to Marco Pantani's favorite pass 🤗, the Mortirolo. ⛰️ The great thing is that at every bend you get new information 📝📈 about your current altitude, how far you still have to go, and what gradient you can expect until the next bend. 📣 Good for me, because my display is still rubbish. 🙈 Now honestly, who wants to know that for sure? 🤔 It's really steep 🥵 and it feels like it never ends 😤, but I thought that at the beginning. 🤨 Well, eventually you'll be at the top 🏁 and everything would be fine 🤗, but going back the same way is stupid. 🤔 So on the other side it goes downhill again at a rapid pace 🚴🏻💨💨 ↘️ and onto the second hill. ⛰️ But you really shouldn't think too long about what's waiting for you there in the afternoon, otherwise you might be tempted to just go back. 😊 Which would be totally OK. But we, Ivan, if I understood correctly, and I didn't do that, we just happened to have the same crazy idea. 🤪 Same direction ⏫, same level ⚖️, so no one had to ride alone. 🚴🏻🚴🏻 So we fought our way up to the Gavia Pass ⏫⛰️ together and flew in pairs 🛩️🛩️ down the other side towards the finish. 🏁 Cool thing 👍🏻😝, it's twice as fun with two people. 🥳
