This route was planned by komoot.
Decided to go for a post covid jab evening walk and was craving being near water due to the sun! If only you could swim in there 😞 such a lovely place so peaceful and you can do lots of other walks from the reservoir.
Not the route we had planned but the storm kept us down at a low level today. We had a nice meander through the woods, stopped for a pie and took in derwent dam before heading back down the far side of ladybower reservoir to the cars. A nice easy route with little elevation and fairly protected from the weather. This walk is also suitable for babycarrying and can be pram friendly by heading down the lane instead of the woodland path.
Had to go again to have a proper look at the remains of the Church, Derwent Hall and gardens. Got a bit carried away with the pics but I doubt that I'll be able to see these remains again up close 🙂🚴
