Fancy a first-class single trail tour that is challenging but not too long? Perfect! Then take a closer look at this route. It starts in Aínsa, runs 80 percent on wonderful single trails and also takes you to two fantastic viewpoints. Sounds tempting, right?

Let’s start in Aínsa. On the way to Morillo de Tou you climb a few meters in altitude, cycle through fragrant pine forests and over spectacular rocky cliffs until you reach the Torre de Cotón. Here you have to stop and enjoy, because the view of the Mediano reservoir and the Cinca Valley is simply wonderful. Another entertaining singletrack descent and you have arrived in Morillo de Tou. The next milestone is the climb to the summit of Partara, from where you have sensational views of Aínsa, the Ara River and the central Pyrenees.

Once you've had your fill of this great sight, what follows is a quick downhill that doesn't have any major obstacles, but does have a great route along a spectacular rock face. Once you have crossed the Ena riverbed, you return to the starting point in Aínsa via asphalted side roads and gravel paths.

Camino del Cerro de Cotón

Highlight • Trail

Wow, you can enjoy magnificent views on this path. And what's more, the trail itself isn't bad either. Technically it's not too difficult and that's why it's really fun.

Cotón Tower

Highlight • Monument

This is where the Torre de Cotón is located. From here you have a spectacular view of the Mediano reservoir and the Cinca Valley that will remain in your memory for a long time. Unfortunately, things aren't going so well for the tower itself. Funds are currently being raised to save it from collapse.

This strenuous ridge path is simply magnificent. Thanks to the numerous stones, steps and roots, you won't get bored here.

This is the most famous bank in all of Sobrarbe. Hundreds of bikers have contemplated the views of Aínsa, in the foreground, and the Peña Montañesa in the background. Boltaña and other towns cradled on the slopes can also be seen. The confluence of the Ara and Cinca rivers and their arrival at the Mediano reservoir with its turquoise waters.

Trail Reviews

Technical climbs and descents a-plenty, better on an e-bike , or am I just getting old! Recommended, but 14 miles does take you longer than you think it will.

Challenging hike! A good physical condition and a good technique of ascent and descent are required!

Third route through Ainsa, shame about the wet terrain that made it dangerous, but the landscape bordering the lake, spectacular https://youtu.be/ikqBg2SkG-k?si=SFK2OLzRjWbMQa3W

The route is hard but the views and the descent are worth it.
