The last walk of my summer holidays 😔 - it's been a super one though! With fantastic views, a sheep jam at Cales Dale made it akward as we were heading in one direction and a couple of walkers were heading in the opposite and the sheep were in the middle on the very narrow and rocky path not knowing where to go, we were all trying hard not to scare them in case they fell down the side, they eventually managed to scramble down the side to a lower and even narrower path! The path along Lathkill Dale was straightforward, but the rocks underfoot in parts were really quite slippy, so we took caution. We had a breather along the edge of the basin at the bottom of Ricklow Dale, an absolutely glorious spot, with crystal clear water! We took a slight detour to the lovely Raper Bridge👌🏻 oh yes, and a big thanks to the walk writer for leaving the climb until the end! 🤦🏻♀️🥵🤣 We debriefed at the Farmyard Inn, Youlgreave, the Guinness went down perfectly! 👌🏻🍻
Such a lovely loop but popular too. Highly recommended :)
I would highly recommend this area Youlgrave Village and Lathkill Dale I've previously been here in the summer and it's beautiful. There are so many industry ruins to look at and find out about, check out this video ⤵️🚶🙂 https://youtu.be/Z2Y0uICKgW8?si=6AXXIwyNTKfyoYTX
