One of the Peak District classic scrambles, Crowden Clough is one of the best ways to climb Kinder Scout. The route starts from the car park at Barber Booth and heads through stunning countryside before starting the ascent to the Clough. The rocky scramble up the Crowden Clough is great fun, though there’s a path that runs alongside if you didn't want to be as hands on. As well as the cascades in Crowden Clough, this walk also takes you to Kinder Downfall, the highest waterfall in the Peak District. On windy days, it’s quite a common sigh to see the water being blown back up! The route involves a crossing of the Kinder Scout plateau, which can be tricky to navigate in bad weather, so make sure you are well prepared before setting out.
Very good walk, must make sure youve got the facilities for it, not for the faint hearted.
DON'T USE THIS ROUTE!!! The part after the Kinder Low is a swamp with no visible path. We are lucky we survived.
