The weather is finally getting better! Today's hike starts at Riggisalp. You can reach it from Schwarzsee for 14 Swiss francs, saving you quite a bit of walking. The hike is varied – narrow paths, wide trails, wonderfully blooming alpine meadows, and barren rock formations. ...and lots of people😅. There are also several places to stop for refreshments along the way. There was even an alphorn and Schwizerörgeli "concert" along the way 😉. Back at Schwarzsee, the place resembled a human anthill. As if the whole of Switzerland were at Schwarzsee today 🙈😅.. *The fascinating primeval landscape of Breccaschlund is a glacial monument created over 10,000 years ago. Imposing limestone cliffs, rolling alpine meadows, and mighty sycamore maples amaze visitors. The valley is home to many alpine flowers and animals, but numerous legends and fairy tales also originated here and have been passed down since time immemorial.*
This beautiful hike follows SwitzerlandMobility Trail 267 and is described in detail here: https://schweizmobil.ch/de/wanderland/route-267. I was traveling in the other direction (better more up than down 😉). The Brecca Gorge is an extremely impressive, barren glacier landscape. The paths are partly easy, especially in the first half, and partly quite challenging. You definitely have to be sure-footed. My first tour in an area that was practically unknown to me was great. It continues tomorrow.
Day off – or in other words "Home is nice too" 😎
Fantastic view on the Schopfenspitz. 😍 Only the last few 100m before the summit are steep uphill. But it is worth it and you will be greeted by sheep shortly before the summit. 😁
Came home from work a little early to clear my head with a brisk walk about the past few days. On the trail of his last breath. Memorial round for a kind-hearted friend who died of cardiac arrest last Saturday on a mountain hike in the Breccaschlund 🥺. Despite immediate resuscitation by companions, First Responder Plus and finally the Rega, he could not be brought back. What remains are beautiful memories of sociable hours, his gestures in my thoughts and sayings/sentences that I often heard. In the evening at the "Sound at Blake Lake" we toasted him again 🍻 "Phippu ùf dier" Also. Pictures 8 to 12 show the restored parts of the hiking trail that was destroyed in storms at the end of last year. It was completed this week and was the last closed path in the Schwarzsee area. Now all routes are accessible again normally 👍🏻😊
Today I wanted to know more about what this Komoot movement time is all about. In addition to the smartphone recording, my Garmin Forerunner 935 GPS watch was also at the start. The plan was to hike a tour that I was very familiar with, as quickly as possible, without major obstacles, of course without breaks of any kind and altitude, but it should still have it. There was no way it could be a summit, there is always somewhere where you get too slow and Komoot mostly interprets such step climbing or rock scrambling as a break because the speed collapses and becomes too low (exactly the most tedious part is misinterpreted😂). So my goal was movement time = total time. So under no circumstances was I allowed to slow down🥵. So it had nothing to do with a hike in the traditional sense to enjoy and see - it simply became a training session. The photos were of course taken in motion except for a selfie 😊. The whole thing went well for a long time until I got to the first fence to cross😱. For once, I just didn't feel able to jump through or over a pike roll 😳. So I actually had to stop for a moment😕 and then there were another 6 times to cross a fence or open a pasture gate. Almost at the end of the tour in the Brecca Gorge, there is a spot with large stones, or rather boulders. Since I know this tour inside and out, I saw myself able to overcome this passage quickly. Jumping from stone to stone. It rained last night. That almost went wrong, the soles of my shoes were still coated with wet earth and grass and soon I slipped while jumping over the boulders. Not dangerous because of a fall, but dangerous to twist your foot in the cracks between the boulders. So, for once, the pace is reduced here. I can feel my ankle now and it's a bit stuck - but the whole thing is harmless, uff! The rest of the tour then went according to my taste. On the 3h total time, I still lost 3 minutes of movement time 🙈😅. Conclusion. You could theoretically bring the movement time to the total time if there are absolutely no obstacles to be overcome and the speed is always kept high without any stopping. So it's more possible when jogging in the flat country, but almost impossible when hiking in the mountains the more steep passages or other obstacles are in the way. But that would always be training sessions anyway and no longer enjoying beautiful hikes with a view. So in the future I will record with the clock again and only stop the clock during a longer break on the summit or possibly later when stopping on the way. This, my movement time, tells me a lot more how long I actually have to hike up a mountain but still the really big breaks are deducted from the time (they can vary a lot depending on the circumstances😊). The Komoot movement time simply has nothing to do with an excursion for me and I also get the total time, in addition to the movement time tailored to me, with the recording by watch. The data transfer from Garmin to Komoot is automatic 👍🏻.
A classic of mine 😉 I don't have to take anything to drink with me on this tour, you walk past fountains at longer intervals (5 in total). If necessary, there would also have been a number of Alpbuvetten. I have always liked the water so far, without any side effects 😊
Yes, there are some who didn't have a holiday today and were only able to do something later 🤨 On this tour there are many opportunities to stop off and sometimes you can even stay overnight 🙄. E.g. in: - Alp Unter Bödeli - Alp Combi - with additional loop Alp Grand-Chalet (Gran Saalì) - Alp Cerniets (Schärnì) - Alp Marbach Brecca - Alp St. Antoni Brecca (Santonì Brecca) - Alp Unteri Rippa (Stìnìgì Rippa) - Alp Hubel Rippa Schwarzsee is known for its many rest stops in the alpine huts. Almost every alpine hut that is inhabited is also a Buvette 😊
