On the green hills and in the forested valleys that frame Lake Isojärvi, you can spot traces of logging work. Old lumberjacks' huts still stand where people used to do their work with saws and axes, but today the management of the forest is left solely to the beaver. On top of that, the three-and-a-half-kilometer Heretty Nature Trail offers plenty of wonderful views.
The path starts at the sauna behind the summer café. It goes through a lot of fragrant forest with some stones and roots. So look down from time to time while you absorb the rich nature. A side path takes you to the Kannuslahti fireplace, which invites you to take a break or spend an extended evening around the crackling campfire. The starting point is practically just around the corner.
