Hiking
The first half goes through Austria, you hike back through Italy - this almost ten-kilometer tour starts at the Nassfeld border crossing. Where border bars created hurdles until 1998, you can now hike without borders thanks to the Schengen Agreement.
The first few kilometers are tough: You hike uphill, but after two and a half kilometers you have already reached the highest point of the hike. As a reward, a wonderful view of the rugged south side of the Gartnerkofel awaits you. From now on it's almost all downhill.
You continue hiking on gravel paths, pass a small lake and reach the Garnitzenalm a little later. Here you can treat yourself to a break, from mid-June to mid-September you can get traditional food here.
Not far, then you cross the border and continue your hike in Italy. From the Kronalm you have a magnificent view of the valley of the Rio Bombaso. The path leads you back over idyllic alpine meadows and you will be accompanied by more great views. You will soon have reached Lago di Pramolo, which is just before the Nassfeld border crossing.

Actually, the kids were already exhausted after the climb, and there were a few uphill sections on the way back. => The spirits were at rock bottom!!!
