Today it's cloudy and very very windy as the Wild Atlantic Way crosses the most south-western peninsula: Mizen. At the southwest end is a lighthouse with an exhibition and lookout points. We almost got blown away today though. Nevertheless nice views, interesting information about the lighthouse and life here. Too bad the ship simulator didn't work...
There were even sea lions here, unfortunately too far down for my camera 😉😍👌😃🌈
Excerpt from Wikipedia.de on 08/04/23: "The Mizen Peninsula (Mizen Head) is the southernmost of the four southwestern peninsulas of Ireland and belongs to County Cork. Shaped like two fingers, the northern one is called Sheep's Head and is one of the most isolated regions on the entire island. … Mizen Head is the picturesque south west tip of Ireland. … Guglielmo Marconi came here to send his first radio message across the Atlantic and to communicate with passing ships. A bridge provides access to the lighthouse and the Mizen Head Visitor Center on the bluffs offshore, where the rough Atlantic surf smashes high spray.”
