This specific 8.53 km loop is rated as moderate and can be suitable for all skill levels due to its easily accessible paths. While it does have some steep up and down sections and potentially technical terrain, it's generally manageable for those with good fitness. Longer routes on the peninsula can be more challenging.
The trail offers diverse terrain, winding through dense Corsican scrubland (maquis) with aromatic plants like arbousiers, junipers, cistus, myrtles, and holm oaks. You'll also encounter impressive granite rock formations, especially at the westernmost tip, and a wild, undeveloped shoreline. The valley around the Chapel of the Madonuccia is notably green, and you'll find oak forests along the way.

This tour was described in the hiking guide as a wildly romantic leisurely stroll. That has come true.
Very nice tour! First half very varied path (sand track, granite rock, free - wooded) Accompanied by a great many lizards. Second half starts very rocky, right along the sea. The last quarter is very "clocky" partly very narrow path through scrub. Then a short detour to the Beach of Cala d'Orzo Very nice secluded beach with two small taverns. Access is via a 1km long and steep pothole dirt road.
Spectacular tour, also because of the high waves caused by the strong Mistral last night.
Beautiful hike from the hamlet of Cascionu which leads through the maquis to the tip of Capu di Muru by the coast. The view at the lighthouse offers a superb spectacle over a chaos of rocks. The Picnic at the end of the Cape where the small chapel Da Madonella is located is a significant highlight! The return via the Genoese tower of Capu di Muru offers a magnificent panorama over the cove of Cacao and the Gulf of Ajaccio. After the Genoese tower, the shaded path is superb. The route in the opposite direction is certainly more suitable if you plan to stop for a picnic at Cap du Muru, because the ascent to the Genoese tower after the meal is done in full sun. The rest of the route leaves regular shaded passages which are very pleasant when the sun is out! That is to say almost every day :)
Very beautiful hike, the middle to the tip is magnificent
This hike is undoubtedly one of the best tours I've done in Corsica. It leads to a beautiful and deserted beach. Under no circumstances should one be dissuaded from the somewhat arduous path to get there.
Loop around Cape Muru. This beautiful hike leads past great secluded bathing spots, imposing rock formations, two little towers and a chapel. The paths are easy to walk on and in spring it smells very pleasantly of Montpellier Cytrose... 🦎 there are plenty and lots of great views. At the beginning or end, a great bar opened today, we were there for the internal test run 👍
Today I rode my motorbike from Propriano to Coti-Chiavari and then walked a bit from there. The paths aren't very pleasant; they're uneven, with lots of rocks and inclines. The scenery and the view make up for it. I highly recommend the restaurant at the destination, with its great views and cold drinks.
