The tour around the "King of White Wines" begins in a district of Ubstadt-Weiher: Stettfeld, less than 15 minutes by S-Bahn from Bruchsal. On this approximately 45-kilometer loop, you'll get to know Riesling from the grape to the drop.

You'll start by cycling to Bad Langenbrücken. Along idyllic, small streets, you'll pass vineyards that glow in vibrant colors, especially in autumn. Storks also feel at home here, and with a bit of luck, you might even encounter one.

The next stop on the Riesling tour is Malsch. The town is picturesquely surrounded by vineyards, and you'll find several wine taverns where you can enjoy a glass of wine or a delicious regional treat.

The next few kilometers are a bit hilly, but beautiful views open up again and again. After a descent, you'll reach Angelbachtal, a cultural highlight with two castles.

You'll overcome a longer climb to Odenheim, partly along a former railway line. Once you arrive in Odenheim, you can take a short detour to Siegfried's Fountain: Turn right onto the main road at the train station, climb up to the right at the outdoor swimming pool, and after about two kilometers you'll find the fountain on the left. This is where Siegfried, the main character in the Nibelungen saga, is said to have been stabbed.

From Odenheim, it's less than ten kilometers to your starting point in Stettfeld. A visit to the Roman Museum is a perfect way to round off the day!

View of Malsch and the airfield

Highlight • Monument

A beautiful spot to watch the sunrise over the Malsch glider airfield—or, when gliders are in operation, to watch the takeoffs and landings of the planes. The stone sculpture was erected in the land consolidation area in 2008 to mark the completion of the Malsch (Aue) land consolidation project and was ceremoniously inaugurated. Hüneke crafted the reclining man, who, from his vantage point, is contentedly contemplating his work—namely, the successful land consolidation—from gray-blue marble.

Relaxed location, with outdoor seating when the weather's nice. Good food at a fair price and their own wines.

In the future, I'm planning tours lasting several days, so city cycling is a good opportunity for a little endurance test: cycling for several days in a row on routes between 30 - 60 km and different terrain. Today: hilly. What could be better than a tour in the "Land of 1000 Hills" 🥵😅. From Stettfeld, we went on the …

What a nice tour, downloaded from the Kraichgau-Stromberg catalog.

Unfortunately neither Riesling nor a fruit cup or spaghetti ice cream - so only something for spartan e-bikers 🥹 also to be seen in relive relive.cc/view/vJOKZ42kX5v?hl=de
