Visp in the heart of the Upper Valais is an excellent starting point for gravel bike tours. This is where the combined Visp River flows into the Rhone, after the Visp, Saas and Matter valleys divide near Stalden and form the gateway to Zermatt and Saas-Fee. High above the valley is the Moosalp, where, away from the industrial areas in the Rhone Valley, the original charm of the landscape and the flair of typical Valais mountain villages have been preserved.
On this demanding, wonderfully varied tour you will experience tough climbs, but also super flowing trails and smooth descents in the middle of the dreamlike scenery of the Valais mountains. On the Moosalp there are numerous opportunities for a culinary break and great resting places to stretch your feet in the meadow and enjoy the wonderful landscape.
Tip: This tour with a gravel bike offers numerous variations, easier but also more difficult. If you want to ride the first demanding gravel climb of about 600 meters to Zeneggen on asphalt, then follow the valley path to Stalden and take the road to Törbel. If you haven't had enough after the 1,500 meters in altitude to the Moosalp restaurant, you can extend the tour via Brandalp and Unterbäch.
