This route was planned by komoot.
Beautiful coastal walk, too bad the dolphins were on holiday🐬🐬
First part of the Fortrose tour. Unfortunately, Komoot cut off the second part of "Faery Glen". That's why it's extra. Taken together, the tour was one of the highlights for me. Once around the Fortrose headland. Start is at the impressive remains of the cathedral. The path leads over paved roads down to the water's edge. From there it goes down to the lighthouse on a dirt track between the stony coast and a golf course. Use is at your own risk - signs along the path indicate low-flying golf balls. Arriving at the headland, it is worth taking a short break to enjoy the panorama. On the way back, the beach looks completely different - sand, small dunes and grass. Since walking on the wet sand is quite exhausting in the long run, you can also switch to the small path above the beach. On the left at the end of the first section of the tour there is a small restaurant with a focus on fish dishes. Here you can recharge your batteries for the second part of the tour.
