Beautiful tour. Sturdy shoes and some surefootedness required.
After arriving on La Palma exhausted and in somewhat cloudy/drizzled weather, we went on a short hike to warm up. The tour is very easy to do and can be used as a gap filler 😀
The detour to the waterfall wasn't worth it today. There was no waterfall to be seen. Hiking poles are recommended for the descent. The only possible rest area is at the highest point after 5 1/3 km. It is very large, however. With a view and possibly sunshine.
Extremely beautiful hike. First along the dry riverbed then up to the Mirador. Through a forest section similar to a rainforest (it actually rained). The view from the Mirador is not amazing - but that may have been due to the not so great weather. The hike was even more beautiful. Always on beautiful paths, some of which were not so easy to manage...highly recommended! But the length isn't quite right. It was probably a little over ten kilometers.
Finally on vacation 🤗🥳🌲☀️.... We are on the hiking island of La Palma, which is part of the Canary Islands and is also called La Isla Bonita or Isla Verde due to its location in the west of the archipelago, the trade wind clouds, and the high mountains (with regular rainfall)... The green or beautiful island 🌲😍. Cubo de la Galga is one of the most popular hikes in the northwest of the island, through gorges and dark, ancient forests that exude a unique, mystical charm. A very beautiful, but also quite challenging hike, as it's constantly (sometimes quite steep) ups and downs for a relatively short distance.... The descent was also a bit slippery due to the wet ground conditions.... At the top, there's a beautiful viewpoint with a view over the forests to the Atlantic Ocean, after which it's just a downhill walk, sometimes passing isolated houses with impressive flora. On our way through the forest we were accompanied by birdsong and on the descent we were repeatedly met by cuddly velvet paws😍👋

After yesterday's sun-exposed tour, today we went on a foray through the evergreen halls of the jungle in the Barranco Cubo de la Galga (https://www.hallokanarischellen.com/wandern/la-palma/cubo-de-la-galga/). What a contrast to the arid western side of the island! On the partly steep and slippery paths you should have all your senses. Hiking sticks are recommended here. Afterwards I made a detour to the Cascada de Los Tilos. Because it was so nice, the impressions of it are included for free 😉
Through magical gorges up to the viewpoint high above the Atlantic. 🥰 We could have collected plenty of chanterelles and puffball mushrooms. 🍄🟫🍄🟫🍄🟫
