Hiking

The westernmost of the Crianlarich Hills, Beinn Chabhair is a relatively accessible Munro from Inverarnan beyond the northern tip of Loch Lomond. In keeping with the character of its neighbours to the east, it has a rough and knobbly summit ridge and boasts beautiful views across the Southern Highlands.

Beinglas Waterfall

Highlight • Natural Monument

If hiking Beinn Chabhair then I’d recommend reaching the summit via the waterfall. However, as it’s a steep climb, avoid it on the way back down by choosing the longer route that winds back to the campsite.

Trail Reviews

Iona Adventuring
May 26, 2021, Beinn Chabhair - first Munro in 8 months!

It was absolutely wonderful to finally make it up a Munro for the first time in the last 8 months. It feels like such an achievement to know that despite lockdown and travel restrictions for the last year I still have some form of hill fitness. It may have felt like a long slog at times but plenty of snacks and good company made the day great fun. Beautiful views from the summit to surrounding mountains, worth every second!
